Description

Avalanche safety system "Inden-Leukerbad" Switzerland

Stationary avalanche blasters with a total of 5 boxes were installed in 3 locations on the right-hand slope of the valley above Leukerbad to protect the connecting road from Inden to Leukerbad. The local avalanches committee is responsible for ordering and implementing the artificial release of avalanches. The installed equipment is operated from the office of the avalanches committee located in the premises of the fire brigade. With this installation the first phase of the entire protection project has materialized.

The foundations were prepared by the Forestry Area Sonnenberge, while Inauen-Schätti AG delivered and installed the equipment.
